Want some additional tips to help?

  • If your little person won’t stay still when tying your top knot, it’s ok! Just tie the first knot on their head and then slip it off. The first knot indicates the tension, or how tight the headband should be (remember the fabric will give, as it’s stretchy, so do it firmly). Then for the second knot, tie it in exactly the same way in your hands. Do it loosely so that you can play with the final knot or bow and manipulate it until you are happy!
  • If the bow or knot is too big, simply tuck the ends in to the knot to form an actual bow, just like this picture below! This is another really cute way to wear them!
Tucking the ends of the bow in to form a proper bow is a great option if the ends are too long on a small baby!

  • There is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way to tie your top knot, so experiment with your knots…have a play around and trial some different knots…see these below for some great ideas!

The bow ends have been tucked under the headband on both of these top knot's.

The ends of Ella’s top knot have been twisted under the headband to create this look!

Or turn your top knot headband upside down and wear the flat part of the headband at the top!
